Open Up Sheffield: Artist Open Studio Weekends

Artists Gemma Madgwick and Jenya Stashkov will be our 2026 resident artists during Open Up Sheffield! Visit over the weekends to see exhibitions of their work, watch their making process, and meet the artists to ask questions. Some of their work may also be available to purchase. Gemma says: "My artistic practice centres on life drawing, creating fast, expressive images, and focusing on the process and how it feels. Creativity is something I believe should be accessible to everyone, even within the pressures of everyday life."

Jenya says: "I work with large-scale figurative painting and use surreal imagery to explore the boundary between human and animal natures. My main artistic tools: fluidity of forms, noses, ornaments, non-existent creatures."
