Lo Ting Crochet Workshop: Ages 11-16

Unleash your creativity at this FREE crochet workshop for ages 11 to 16! Together with young artist and facilitator Ning Cheng, you'll learn crochet skills to bring to life the mythical character Lo Ting: a half-human, half-fish creature from Hong Kong's history. All materials will be provided.

What You’ll Get:
– Hands-On Learning: Learn basic crochet techniques and create your own interpretation of Lo Ting.

Who is it for?
Young people aged 11-16. This workshop is perfect for those with basic crochet skills, and anyone eager to learn more! 
Please note young people need permission from a parent or carer to attend, but do not need to be accompanied by an adult during the workshop.

Language
The workshop will be delivered in English with Hong Kongese support.

Location and Access
The workshop will take place in person at RivelinCo's new space, which is 96-100 Middlewood Road (opposite Molly's Deli and Hillsborough Bookshop). Renovations will have only just finished, so we won't have an access statement for the space until a litter later in the year, but it will have a level access entrance and an accessible toilet. If you have any other questions about access, please contact access@rivelinco.org in advance of the workshop.

This workshop is hosted by The Bare Project, in collaboration with Re-Water. It is part of Common Threads, an international weaving project bringing culture, ideas and people, together in Sheffield. Common Threads has grown from a collaboration between The Bare Project, a Somali weaving group and other textile groups in Sheffield.
