Creatures of the Don at Winn Gardens

On Thursday 13th August a team of writers, music producers & scientists will be visiting Winn Gardens Estate to chat to residents about the stories and creatures of the River Don. They’ll be collecting stories from people who live on the estate and hosting a party in and around their pop-up Potting Shed Radio! 

Catch them at S6 Foodbank at Winn Gardens TARA office from 11am, and then on the Pavilion bowling green 2pm – 6pm.

Programme for the day:

11am – 1pm: Mapping River Stories at Food Bank

Collecting river myths from around the world and personal memories nearer to home. 

2pm – 5pm: Mapping River Stories at River Radio (on the grass near the basketball courts)

2.30pm – 4.30pm: River Song Walk and Workshop

A sound design workshop where we’ll be gathering audio from the river to create rippling, flowing, cascading music!

5pm – 6pm: Picnic and World Premiere of River Don Song

We’ll play the song we’ve created together and share some snacks.
