Artist Support Hub: All About Access Riders

This event is for disabled/chronically ill/neurodivergent artists who would like to learn more about sharing their access requirements with organisations, as well as for anyone who would like to find out more about what access riders are and how they work.

Access riders are documents that give detailed information about someone's access requirements. They're a helpful way to communicate your access requirements in a professional setting, without needing to keep repeating the same information or be put on the spot. 

In this session we'll take a look at what access riders are, who might want to have one, and how they work. The session is best for people who don't know much or anything about access riders and are looking for an introduction. It will be relaxed and informal, with lots of opportunity to ask questions, but nobody will be asked to disclose information about  illnesses/disabilities, unless you would like to!

Emily is the Head of Programme at RivelinCo and also works as a freelance access consultant. She has supported lots of organisations across South Yorkshire to put together access statements for venues and events, and has received training from The Centre for Accessible Environments. She lives with chronic illness.
