Job description

We’re looking for 3 or 4 more people to join our Board and support our next steps.

RivelinCo aims to build collective power, cohesion and creativity in historically underfunded areas, by championing intergenerational, regenerative projects led by artists and communities in North Sheffield.

As a board member, you’ll help us level up the company sustainably, support long-term fundraising and strategic planning, help us build resilience, be advocates for our work, and offer advice and support in specialist areas. Due to the nature of our work, we’re keen that the group includes representatives from a combination of cultural, third sector, commercial and service sectors.

We’re particularly keen to hear from people who have at least one of the following skills or knowledge areas:

• Experience in leading socially engaged arts projects or organisations
• Finance or accounting expertise
• HR expertise
• Experience with producing, operations and/or health and safety for large-scale cultural events e.g. outdoor arts, festivals
• Experience of fundraising, or can open up useful connections for RivelinCo
• Experience of evaluation and social impact measurement
• Expertise in sustainability, environment and/or regenerative work
• A connection to North Sheffield, particularly Hillsborough, Stannington, Parson Cross and the surrounding areas

We value knowledge that comes in different forms, including lived experience. We would also particularly like to see applications from people from the Global Majority, who are currently underrepresented in our team.

We’re on a really exciting journey. We’ve completed a year of creative community consultation which will inform a responsive programme for the next 3 years. We’re transforming a former shop front premises into an arts and community hub. And we’ve recently secured a major multi-year grant to support our work.
