Pop-Up People’s Museum

RivelinCo are inviting local people to come and explore the Hillsborough Parkive, a community-generated archive of Hillsborough Park’s working class and community heritage, created in 2021 by RivelinCo in collaboration with local people, and supported by Age UK Sheffield and the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The Parkive features stories and memories submitted by real people, as well as images, film, maps, timelines and more.
Highlights from the Parkive will be exhibited during this event alongside talks and creative activities, and there will be opportunities for you to add your own stories and memories to the archive too. This event is also an opportunity to look to the future: RivelinCo have begun fundraising for the development of the park’s currently derelict Grade II listed Gatehouse, which will eventually become a creative community hub and a permanent home for the Hillsborough Parkive: our very own Hillsborough People’s Museum. Come on down to find out more about the plans, including how you can get involved!
This drop-in event will be suitable for all ages, and children’s activities will be available on the day. Please note that the event will be held outdoors by the Gatehouse building, so please wear appropriate clothing and footwear, and bring a brolly if necessary!
