Learn how to make a copper bowl using heat, a hammer and a sandbag, under guidance from professional metalworker Melissa Montague.

This workshop is an introduction to working with metal to create small decorative metal bowls. You will learn how to work with Aluminium and Copper which both have unique qualities. With guidance from Melissa, you will learn how to texture sheet metal using hammers and punches and then form the metal to create your own bowl to take away.

The workshop takes place on Saturday 25 March, 11am – 4pm. No experience needed and all materials provided.

About Melissa:

Melissa Montague is a metalsmith whose practice explores traditional silversmithing techniques such as hammer raising and forging. Predominantly working with silver, copper and brass Melissa creates vessel forms and spoons, which question the boundaries between function and sculpture.
