We are looking for a Sheffield-based Designer for an upcoming community light project in Hillsborough Park!

This is a mini-commission for a small co-created art piece, creating famous Sheffield landmarks out of cardboard and recycled materials, to be lit up internally (3D) and from behind (silhouette) as part of the All Lit Up community event in Hillsborough Park on Saturday 26 February 2022. The piece will be presented after dark on the squirrel green, opposite the walled garden in Hillsborough Park.

This is a £525 commission, to cover 3.5 days of activity, paid at £150 per day:
1x full day or 2x half days design/planning incl. site visit - between 28 January and 14 February 2022)
2x half days facilitation, building structures with children and young people in Hillsborough Park, supported by an assistant facilitator - between Monday 14 and Friday 18 February 2022
1x full day or 2x half days remaining build and finishing touches - between Monday 14 and Friday 25 February 2022
1x half day install and event - Saturday 26 February 2022

We appreciate time and money is limited, so would like to see proposals that are creatively ambitious but realistically achievable within these parameters. Cardboard and other requested materials will be sourced by RivelinCo and provided to the designer. There will be a small budget available for consumable materials e.g. paint, cable ties etc, and once the lights have been confirmed by the Designer they will be purchased by the Friends of Hillsborough Park. Please note that there is no travel budget available for this commission - we are hoping to work with somebody who is Sheffield-based.
